Crackling Caldera's standards are smoothly finished in rich orange. Its flared bright yellow falls are rimmed in bright orange, emphasizing their heavily ruffled edges. Its stems, while short, produce 10-12 double- and triple-socketed buds.it withstands the heat that can come with late flowering varieties has been awarded Honourable Medal in 2005, Award of Merit in 2007and the Wister Medal in 2010, awarded by the American Iris Society.

Iris flowering season commences in early October  and if weather conditions are ideal can continue well into November. Orders will not be dispatched until after flowering, it is important the rhizome is given time to put on growth after flowering so we aim to dig your order early December, weather permitting. Our rhizomes are trimmed washed, sanitised and left a day or two to dry, this makes your buying experience a positive one.
