BEACHY QUEEN Thomas Johnson USA 2021 Flowering Early to Mid-Season 35”

Tall Bearded Iris

Imported by Riversdale Irises the year it was introduced at Mid-America Garden in the USA and after spending required time in quarantine, minimum of 3 months, it arrived at our property in 2022, it is important that imported varieties are given the appropriate time to acclimatise to being in the southern hemisphere, and also recover from the fumigation process that is a requirement for plant material entering Australia.

Be amongst the first to acquire this iris. whilst in the USA it is listed as early we have found it to be early to mid season here.  This variety is described by the hybridiser as having deep toasted watermelon standards with lighter edges. Falls are a light creamy pink with deeper toasted watermelon area around the beard extending to a full wash and then a light buff pink band. Very nicely ruffled well formed flowers are carried on nice show stems. A very lovely blended creation. You will fall in love with it when you see it, just like we did. Simply beautiful! This was awarded an Honourable Mention in 2024   This variety has show stems, great substance and a sweet fragrance. Beautiful!

Iris flowering season commences in early October  and continues well into November weather permitting. Orders will not be dispatched until after flowering, it is important the rhizome is given time to put on growth after flowering so we aim to dig your order early to mid December, weather permitting. Our rhizomes are trimmed washed, sanitised and left a day or two to dry, this makes your buying experience a positive one.   If you can wait the ideal time for planting is February - April.

If you have a specific time that you wish to receive your order, please sent a text message with you invoice number through to 0413188375 with your request.

Please Note:

As a bio security requirement all orders received from Western Australia and Tasmania require a Plant Health Certificate and treatment of plants before an order can be processed and dispatched.
